If we are to see the end of modern day slavery in our generation it is going to take many dedicated individuals to speak up and put some action behind their words. Education:

Read books, watch movie, and search the web on what human trafficking is.  Learn all the facts become the expert on human trafficking in your sphere of influence.

Awareness

Find places to share your knowledge with.  Speak at local churches, schools, and community centers.  Bring it up in casual conversations, with strangers, and at family meetings.  Be prepared to direct them to a website or book that they too can learn more.  Don’t be shy if you don’t know everything, we are all learning together.  Just start sharing what you know.  You may know more than you think.

Persecution

Keep up with the latest laws that are trying to be passed to help the victims and persecute the slave masters and buyers.  Write your senator and state congress men and women.  Explain to them the situation and how you would like them to sign this or that bill.  Bring awareness to them and push them to do more.

Rescue

Get educated on how to track down brothels or sweat shops and learn on how to shut them down. Join a team going overseas to work hand and hand with the victims. Join an organization that is working on rescuing the slaves.

Shop responsible

Refuse to buy products that are made with slave labor. Stay away from pornography and internet sites these fuel the sex slave industry.

Give

Find an organization that is working to prevent, rescue or aftercare and give to them so they can continue the work that has been put on their hearts.

Get Help

If you are addicted to pornography or buying sex, get help from a professional. This addiction will not only ruin your life and your families life but, it is creating a demand for sex slaves (young girls) to be bought and sold against their will. There is help out there, you don’t have to hide in darkness and live with this illness.

Get Involved

Find a local organization and join their monthly meetings.  Sign up for a walk/run. Go on a missions trip focused on helping trafficked victims.  If you can’t find an organization in your area  contact amanda@speakupforthem.com and we will help you find or start a group.
